How To Download Jmp To Mac

This document will explain how to install JMP Pro on a computer running Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and later.

Installing JMP Pro

  1. Go to software.usc.edu/jmp and download JMP Pro for Mac.
  2. Double-click the JMP Pro file to expand the JMP files. The JMP folder should automatically open.
  3. In the JMP folder, double-click the application called JMP Pro.pkg to begin the installation process.
  4. A screen will appear and ask you to enter the administrator password for your computer. Enter the password and click OK to continue.
  5. On the JMP-Installer – Introduction screen, click Continue.
  6. On the JMP-Installer – Installation Type screen, click Continue.
  7. JMP will begin installing. It will take a few minutes for the installation to complete.
  8. On the JMP-Installer – Summary screen, click Close to complete the installation and then restart your computer.
  9. Once JMP Pro has finished installing, follow the instructions at itservices.usc.edu/stats/jmp/applylicensemac to apply your JMP Pro site license.

If there are, however, you can select Download. The next steps are an example of what this looked like when updating JMP Pro 14. If no updates are available for 15, you can skip these remaining steps. On the next page, select the Macintosh download. In order to download the update, you will need to log-in with your SAS account.

These instructions are for the latest release, JMP Pro 15 for the 2020-21 license term. Installation of versions 13 and 14 use the same procedure as the one shown here, except for the names of the files. The installation files are located in the same locations in their respective installers.

Install JMP Pro for Windows

  1. You will be sent a Download link in your email after completing your order. (It’s imperative that you.
  2. If you are using JMP Pro for Mac, you will need to determine your software site ID in order to download the correct license renewal file. To determine your JMP site ID: Launch JMP Pro.
  1. Download the current JMP license file archive. You can find this on your order confirmation page. For instructions on how to access your order confirmation page, please see How To Look Up Your Software Codes.
    • On the order confirmation page, click the link.
    • On the Download Software splash page, click the link to download the file JMP-License-2020-21.zip
    • Departmental Subscribers Only: If you are part of a department that has a departmental JMP license, instead please check with your departmental JMP license coordinator to obtain your current JMP license file.
  2. After the license file archive has downloaded, right-click it and select Extract All. This should create a folder called JMP-License-2020-21 in the location you selected. Inside that folder will be several folders, each listing a version of JMP (version number and Mac or Windows). Please remember the location of this folder.
  3. On the CU Software JMP page, download the JMP Pro 15 installer for Windows. The file name will be JMPPro15-Win.zip.
  4. After the installer has finished downloading, right-click the installer and select Extract Files. You will be prompted to select a location to put the files.
    We recommend that you create a new folder in your My Documents folder for this purpose.
  5. After they have been extracted, go to that folder. Find the application and double-click.
  6. The installer should now run. You will be prompted for a few options during the installation. We recommend that you accept the default values for all options. You do not need to enter a department or administrator name.
  7. After the installer finishes, you should now see a shortcut to JMP Pro 15 on your desktop. Double-click that shortcut.
  8. The first time you run JMP, it will need to be told the location of a current license file. Click and navigate to the JMP-License-2020-21 folder that you created in Step 2 above. Within that folder, navigate to the license file JMP.per located in the folder that matches your version of JMP and operating system. Click .
    If you cannot find the license file, click Windows Start and type the file name in the search box.

Some customers report that that after applying the license, they receive a 'License Expired' error. If that happens to you, please re-run the the license authorization (start at step 5 above), but when you get to step 8, instead of JMP.per, select the other file in the license folder. That file will have a long file name of a format similar to 'JMP###_XXXXXX_#######_WIN_X64.txt'.

  5. A virtual disk should appear on your desktop, called JMP-15-Installer. That disk should contain a JMP installer application called JMP Pro 15.pkg. (Note: Depending in your Mac’s system settings, you may not see the '.pkg' extension to the file name.)
  6. Double-click the installer. You may be prompted for your macOS Administrator password to install the software.
  7. While the installer runs, you may be prompted to select options. We recommend that you accept the default values for all options.
  8. After the installer finishes, you should find a JMP application in your Applications folder. Double-click the application to start JMP.
  9. The first time you run JMP, the application will open a window that prompts you to browse to a JMP license file. Click the button and navigate to the JMP-License-2020-21 folder that you created in Step 2 above. Within that folder, navigate to the license file JMP.per located in the folder that matches your version of JMP and operating system. Click .

Install JMP Genomics (Windows only)

  2. From the CU Software JMP Licensing page, download JMP Genomics 9. This will download JMP-Genomics-9-Depot.zip.
  3. Right-click the file you just downloaded and select from the dropdown menu.
  4. When complete, you should find a new folder called JMP-Genomics-9-Depot next to the archive. Open the folder.
  5. Inside the folder, you should see an application called . Double-click that application to launch.
  6. The Setup Utility may take several minutes to load. If Windows asks if you want the program to make changes to your computer, click Yes.
  7. A program called SAS Deployment Wizard should launch. Select the language you wish to use for the installation process. (English is default) and click .
  8. On the Select Deployment Task window, select . Click .
  9. On the Specify SAS Home window, we recommend that you keep the default setting. Click .
  10. On the Specify Deployment Type window, select . Click .
  11. On the Select Products to Install window, check the box next to each individual component that you wish to install, and click .
    • If you only want JMP Genomics, you may uncheck all other boxes.
    • If you also want to use SAS Genetics, we recommend that you keep the default products selected.
    • Please be advised that the version of SAS Statistics installed alongside JMP Genomics is a partial installation, and is not intended as a standalone SAS Statistics installer.
  12. For the rest of the option windows, we strongly advise that you select the default values and click .
  13. After you have selected the installation options, the installer will run a configuration check. This can take several minutes. If it returns errors, click to the problematic section and choose another value. If it passes the check, click .
  14. Review the installation options. If they are correct, click Start. The installer may run for more than an hour, and may require a reboot of your computer.
  15. If your computer does reboot, the SAS Deployment Wizard will attempt to launch. If Windows prompts for permission, allow it to run. After it launches, click .
  16. Upon successful installation, click .
